Narrative

The Supported Housing program of Jewish Family & Children's Service (JF&CS) helps people with disabilities live as independently as possible while enjoying the advantages of a tight-knit community.

Supported Housing participants receive individualized assistance that promotes self-determination, community inclusion, safety, empowerment and lifelong learning.  A strong sense of belonging is also fostered through organized activities ranging from movie nights and holiday parties to interest groups and neighborhood outings.

Staff members help participants navigate the social world and become more independent by providing skill-building assistance with money management, meal planning, household tasks, interpersonal dynamics, managing medical appointments, building healthy habits and setting goals.
