Narrative
The YWCA Greater Newburyport is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. For over 125 years, the YWCA Greater Newburyport has been transforming the lives of women and their families in the Greater Newburyport community. It is the policy of the YWCA Greater Newburyport to develop inclusive programs and facilities that provide the greatest amount of access possible to all members of the greater Newburyport community. In light of this policy, the YWCA Greater Newburyport works with individuals or parents to provide reasonable accommodations enabling persons with disabilities to participate in existing programs of the YWCA.
The YWCA offers affordable housing, after school and summer childcare, camps, health and wellness programs for all ages, aquatic exercise, swim lessons, swim team, land exercise programs, private training, encore programs for women recovering from breast cancer, adaptive aquatic programs and open swim times in our lap and warm water pools. Scholarship opportunities are available for all program options.
Our collaborations with other community based organizations including Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, Arc Greater Haverhill Newburyport, Newburyport Youth Services, Community Action and Anna Jaques Hospital enable us to provide an extensive array of programs that meet the needs of many in our community.
