Narrative

DDS Residential Services: NSMHA is a leader in pioneering services for people with varying abilities and skill levels. We provide residential and day supports for individuals who are deaf-blind and have developmental disabilities. Our staff are trained in Mindful Care Giving, Signed English and Total Communication. Our Support strategies reflect the core value that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and have something to offer to his/her community. Our communities are truly richer when this happens.

Housing and Home supports for adults who have developmental disabilities are available in the communities of Winthrop, Revere, Chelsea, Saugus and Waltham. These services include semi- independent apartments and twenty-four-hour supported homes. We are committed to the premise that quality of life begins in the home and believe that providing a safe, comfortable home that promotes dignity and independence as well as inclusion with the neighboring community is central to the quality of life for the individuals we support.
