Narrative

The Venture Shared Living program focuses on providing people with developmental disabilities a  compatible home environment to enrich their lives.  Providers welcome an adult with a disability into their homes, lives and families.  The ultimate goal is for the individual and provider to establish a mutually supportive relationship.

 Shared Living Caregiver Guidelines

* Provide the participant with a safe, clean, and comfortable home

* Assist with and schedule the individual’s medical and  dental appointments

* Ensure that physician recommendations are being fulfilled

* Assist with cultivation of daily living skills

* Develop a relationship with participant based upon     mutual respect

* Possess a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle

* Foster community involvement, social development, and positive relationship building

* Ensure the overall wellbeing of the participant and welcome them into the family unit

 Respite care and professional training are provided as well as a tax free annual stipend.
