Narrative
At BCI, part of the LEARN provider network, our team uses Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help children with autism spectrum disorder discover, learn, and achieve milestones in their development of communication and social skills.
With a systematic, ABA-based approach, we apply research-based strategies to improve your child’s socially significant behaviors, including his or her:
- Communication and social skills
- Adaptive Living Skills (ADLs), such as gross and fine motor skills, eating, toileting, dressing, and other forms of self-care
- Community-based skills
- And more
How does ABA help? By building new skills, children with autism increase their independence and positive behaviors, while learning self-control and self-monitoring strategies to help them identify effective and adaptive behaviors in life-like scenarios. Additionally, children learn to alter conditions that bring about challenging behaviors and reduce interfering behaviors that hinder learning and home life.
